This is a full UPDATED FOR 2019/20 ACADEMIC YEAR unit of work for the NCFE Level 1 Award in Graphic Design. I wrote it to deliver within a young offender setting and it works really well for 15-18 year old learners that are low ability. I have included pretty much all of the corresponding worksheets for the unit in this bulk resource. Prior to me writing the qualification, I found very little resources for the NCFE quals so hopefully this will support others now! A series of design movement worksheets I have created for use in my lessons. I use these alongside the NCFE Level 1/2 in Graphic Design, however they would work well in KS3 and GCSE curriculum, perhaps as a homework task. Would suit Art & Design, Graphic Design and Design Technology subject areas. Have also uploaded some more Graphic/Design/Technology based worksheets of the same style.

This resource is something I designed to help embed literacy within my qualification. The front of the resource contains a highly colourful range of examples to demonstrate the formal elements in Art and visual elements in Graphic Design. The back of the resource contains: Support for annotating work (with bullet points to encourage thinking) Sentence starters to help reflect on positives about a piece of their design/art Sentence starters to help reflect on areas to improve about a piece of their design/art Sentence starters to help reflect on things the learner does not like about about a piece of their design/art I chose to laminate these (double sided) and each learner has one in their folder to use as a point of reference if required. They would also work laminated and stuck to tables or even made larger and displayed on classroom walls.

A series of displays I created for my classroom Colour theories, Pantone and Swiss Design I use these in my young offender Graphic Design classroom but they would work in any creative environment

I created a huge number of Artist research factsheets during my PGCE. The information for these was all found on the internet (please note I have not reworded any, merely copied and pasted). The idea behind the factsheets was to have a bank of resources for reference, both for myself and for students. I have printed all of these out and have them in separate folders (relating to style of art/design). I have made great use of them during my time teaching in a young offenders institute, and the learners like to select their own designers for inspiration to develop their ideas. A learner friendly peer feedback slip designed for use in an Art & Design lesson (with a project focused around Robots, however the design is very neutral and suitable for a variety of subject areas!) A great tool for formative assessment and a way to encourage learners to work together and respect each other (British Values).
